Description

Remember the TV show “The Fall Guy”? If so, you probably remember that Colt Seavers (Lee Majors) drove a really cool GMC short bed 4x4 pickup truck. Even if you don’t remember that show, you likely know that these so-called “Square Body” GMCs and their Chevy twins with their classic, square-edged pickup design are very popular now in the collector car/truck world. Here we have a 1980 Chevrolet K-10 Fleetside 4x4 “Survivor " truck. This sharp Chevy still boasts its original body panels, paint, chrome/stainless trim, interior and weather stripping. Even the underside is impressively solid. This was obviously a very well-cared for truck. The odometer shows just 85,095 original miles, claimed as accurate by the former owner. As seen by the window sticker, this truck was ordered with plenty of options, including the upscale Silverado trim (this was before “Silverado” became the truck’s name), full tinted glass, power steering, power front disc brakes, the 4-speed manual transmission, 3:73 rear axle ratio, electric clock, cargo lamp, chrome step and tow bumper, tilt steering wheel, windshield antenna, front and rear tow hooks, inside hood release, dual fuel tanks and a skid plate. The aftermarket upgrades include handy cab entry steps, a retractable tonneau cover and an Alpine AM/FM/Cassette audio system. Powered by a bulletproof straight six matched to the optional 4-speed manual, this truck sports a 4-inch suspension lift with Rancho components, a rear sway bar, and a set of new old stock 15"x12" Superior Turbine Aluminum wheels wearing aggressive 33"x12.50" R15 LT Hankook Dynapro All Terrain tires. Underway, this classic pickup runs extremely well with smooth shifting and no rattles. It comes with plenty of paperwork, including the dealership invoice (showing an original MSRP of $8871.45) the original sales brochure, the owner’s manual and a scheduled maintenance brochure. With its combination of originality, condition and desirability, this 1980 Square Body Chevy 4x4 likely won’t be here long. As they say, they’re only original once.
