Here is a dream car that has led a pampered life, most of it in Beverly Hills CA in a private collection. For the last decade this 1950 Chevrolet Styleline Deluxe convertible car has been stored in a climate controlled environment here on the east coast. With only 30,867 actual miles, this cream puff has only been in the hands of collector car enthusiasts. The gleaming black paint is about 70% original with the top surfaces being properly refinished in lacquer due to decades of polishing that left them somewhat thin. It matches perfectly with the rest of the paint and the chrome front and rear bumpers still have a show quality shine. The other chrome and bright trim is likewise in beautiful condition. No rust issues or repairs on the under side of this car, which is as stunning as the top side. As this was the top of the Chevrolet line back then, this Styleline is loaded with options, including white wall tires, directional signals, back up lights, power convertible top and a master grille guard. Under the proud hood is the original 216 c.i. overhead valve inline 6 matched to a 3-speed manual transmission with a column shifter. The rear axle features a 4.11:1 gear ratio to make the most of the engine's ample torque. Take a good look at that engine compartment and you'll note the windshield washer bottle...an option back in 1950. The wiring and all the engine components are original and even the inner fenders and fire wall have the original paint with the factory markings. The car has recently been serviced and fitted with a new exhaust system. Under way, this sharp Chevy runs very smooth and whisper quiet. Slide behind the big wheel and you'd swear you were transported back to 1950. The interior is original, correct and in amazing condition. The dash and instrument cluster are original and very well preserved, as are the door panels and various hardware. The windows roll up and down with ease and all of the glass is original, including the windshield. Only the carpet had been replaced and the back seat looks as if no one has ever sat in it. There are no cracks in the original steering wheel. The handsome original upholstery looks and feels great with its Burgundy leather and Tan striped cloth combination while other interior options inside include a push button radio (inoperative), a radio antenna and deluxe heater and defroster. Beautifully well preserved and detailed, this classic and rare 1950 Chevy convertible drives like a dream. Look around and you'll see that this gorgeous classic convertible is priced to sell below comps according to the Old Car Price Guide. A museum quality classic that has never been sold to the public, this car needs to be driven and shown so it can be appreciated by everyone.
